services

Four things, done well.

Three building services and one advisory service. What I advise on technically I can build myself, and what I advise on organisationally I have led myself.

build

Data application development

Full stack applications on your data. Infrastructure, backend and frontend from one place, so you don’t need three parties for one product.

  • Custom applications: from an internal tool to a complete platform.
  • Dashboards inside your own environment: reporting that lives in your portal or app, not in a separate BI tool next to it.
  • AI assistants on your data: asking questions about your own numbers, with answers that hold up.
  • Infrastructure and hosting: setting it up, shipping it and keeping it running.
  • Maintenance and further development: also after delivery.

It does not have to start big. Verity is the extensive example, but a single dashboard in your portal or one integration is just as much a project.

foundation

Data engineering

The layer everything else rests on. Getting data out of your sources, structuring it properly and making it available in a warehouse you can build on.

  • Data pipelines: automated collection from ad platforms, webshops, CRM and internal systems.
  • Warehouse setup: setting up BigQuery, from raw data to usable models.
  • Data structure and modelling: tables that make sense and keep holding up as you grow.
  • Orchestration and monitoring: schedules that run, with an alert when something breaks.
  • Migrations: from scattered exports and spreadsheets to one place.

Typical trigger: your data lives in ten places, or someone manually exports the same report every Monday.

measure

Tracking setup

Measurement that adds up. From dataLayer design to conversions arriving at every channel, including consent, server-side tagging and the reporting on top.

  • GA4 and Google Tag Manager: implementations and audits: setup, events, e-commerce, cleaning up old migrations.
  • Marketing pixels: Google Ads, Meta (incl. Conversions API), Microsoft Advertising and LinkedIn.
  • E-commerce tracking: Triple Whale, Elevar and server-side tagging for your webshop.
  • Cookie compliance: consent mode v2 connected to your cookie banner, so you measure within the rules.
  • Reporting: dashboards that match what is actually being measured.

Typical trigger: you don't trust your numbers, every channel reports something different, or a new site is on the way.

One question, four answers. This is where my work starts.

advise

Consultancy

Advice on data and tooling, and on the digital organisation around it. Useful when you build it yourself, when you first want to know which direction to take, or when your management team needs someone who oversees the digital side.

  • Review of your setup: what you have, what is wrong with it and what needs attention first.
  • Migration plan: when you move to another platform, warehouse or tracking setup.
  • Tool selection: what you need, what can go and what it should cost.
  • Second opinion: on quotes, vendor selection and ongoing projects.
  • Digital organisation and team: how to set up development, content, design and data, and which roles you need for it.
  • Roadmap and priorities: what comes first, what comes later and what you are better off leaving.
  • Fractional CTO or head of digital: a fixed number of days a week responsible for the digital side, without a full-time hire.
  • Sparring partner: checking in with your own team or management team on a regular basis.

Advice your own team can execute. And if you would rather have me do it, that works too. I know the organisational side from the inside: at VodafoneZiggo I led 120 people as director digital, across development, content, design and data.

Not sure which of these your question falls under?

Doesn't matter. Describe what's going on and I'll think along.
